Kanyakumari, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his third and final day to meditation at the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial. This serene Saturday morning began with a beautiful ritual as PM Modi performed the 'Surya Arghya' during sunrise, a spiritual practice that pays homage to the sun.
The 'Surya Arghya' ritual involves offering water to the sun, symbolizing gratitude and reverence. With a traditional beaker-like vessel, PM Modi poured water into the sea, praying with his japa mala (prayer beads) in hand. Clad in saffron, he exuded a sense of calm and devotion.
Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, the Prime Minister paid floral tributes to a statue of Swami Vivekananda. Walking around the mandapam, the PM held his japa mala, immersing himself in contemplation and reflection.
Kanyakumari, known for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, provides a picturesque backdrop for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Perched on a tiny islet near the shoreline, this memorial is a testament to Swami Vivekananda's spiritual legacy. PM Modi began his meditation retreat here on the evening of May 30, culminating in a three-day journey of introspection set to conclude this evening.
As the Prime Minister wraps up his meditative sojourn, the tranquil surroundings of Kanyakumari and the sacred memorial offer a profound reminder of India's rich spiritual heritage.
